The more you save, the more you can invest, the better your finances will be, giving you financial independence and an enjoyable and perhaps early retirement.

Saving isn't always easy. But there are a few key aspects to it.

  1. Earn more
  2. Save a portion of your earnings as soon as you get it and lock it away (because budgeting is almost impossible for most)
  3. Don't touch your savings until you're ready to retire
  4. Don't touch the earnings from your investments, reinvest them, until you're ready to retire
  5. Prioritize your spend, by spending on a few key interests so you can enjoy life, while saving in other areas by spending less
  6. Forget about the Joneses, don't keep up with them.

I'll discuss ideas on saving across these areas that I hope will work for you. They've worked for me and I've been able to save enough that I now have a portfolio that pays me enough to retire.
